Resident. Widespread and common throughout Britain except the
far north of Scotland where it tends to be more local and uncommon.
Montgomeryshire Status
Found at three sites in the northern half of the county.

Mainly open habitats.
Foodplant
Common & greater knapweed, spear & creeping thistle & greater burdock.
Lifestage data
Leaf mining/spinning. Eggs laid on leaf. Larva initially mines, then
rolls a leaf into a tube & feeds within, later feeds in a web under
a leaf. Pupates in detritus. |
